This data was digitized from 1996 (rectified) digital orthophotos by GIS Coordinator's Office and Community Planning and Development Department personnel. Many of the buildings were selected by the Office of Emergency Management for use with their Emergency Information System (EIS). School Buildings in Eagle River area were digitized off of non-rectified 1997 aerial photographs that were four point registered. Photos were 1 = 500 scale. All schools were recently edited and corrected using 2001 and 2002 Ikonos imagery.

MISD-GIS produces a CD-ROM named "MOA GIS Data." The CD-ROM contains the MOA's GIS data, and ArcExplorer, a GIS application to view and query the data, and a conversion program allowing the user to convert GIS data to DXF format usable with major CAD and graphics programs.
