Abstract:
This layer was originally digitized from the 1980 Anchorage Coastal Resource Atlas Map titled "Surfical Geology". The map is a simplified version of USGS information depicting surfical geology. The coverage was created by Sean Weems formerly of ADGGS by digitizing the Schmoll & Dobrovolny map. MISD-GIS received the coverage from Weems and with input from ADGGS (Rod Combellick) Digitized scale is 1:24000
Purpose:
To provide a data layer for various mapping and analytical needs for use with other MOA GIS data sets. Data is stored and maintained as a feature data layer in SDE.
Supplemental_Information:
The mapped area is a portion of the Anchorage Bowl and does not include Eagle River and Turnagain Arm. These areas are shown on paper maps located at the Municipal Planning Department in Coastal Resource Atlases for those areas.
